Comics: A Global History

Escape was one of a handful of magazines… through which the various alternative comics communities around Europe and America began to forge a shared identity in the 1980s. Escape championed British artists such as Eddie Campbell, Brian Bolland, Hunt Emersoin, Savage Pencil, Ed Pinsent and Rian Hughes, alongside contributions from European and American cartoonists, and articles and reviews highlighting international comics topics.”
