Graphic Novels by Warren Pleece

Warren Pleece is a stranger to Photoshop, and creating graphic novels takes time, so he is always busy working things out with a pencil.

He has created work in many episodic comic-books for America: Hellblazer, The Invisibles, Deadenders and Kinetic to name a few.

Warren Pleece is also the author of The Great Unwashed,  with his brother Gary Pleece. If you enjoyed reading that you might like one of his other 3 graphic novels.

Montague Terrace by Warren and Gary Pleece

1. Montague Terrace

In Montague Terrace, nothing is quite what is seems. The eccentric residents are unsettling. All crowded under one roof, yet lonely in their apartments.

  • Paul Gregory, self-exiled pop crooner holed up in his apartment for years, with fading memories and a bottle of bourbon for company.
  • Beatrice Green, code-name Babushka, a former special ops agent now fighting council officials.
  • Marvo The Magic Bunny and Mystical Marvin, down-on-their luck entertainers hiding a disturbing past.
  • The Puppeteer, toiling away day and night, pulling the strings of world events and causing chaos.

Similar in tone and black humour to The Great Unwashed, this book discovers many stories about one extraordinary address. Welcome to Montague Terrace.

2. Incognegro: A Graphic Mystery

A disturbing story of racism in America. Lynchings were commonplace in the American South, in the early 20th century. A few courageous reporters risked their lives to expose the truth. These light-skinned African-Americans, “passing for white,” called their undercover work “going incognegro”. Zane Pinchback, a reporter escapes death when his ‘incognegro’ assignment goes wrong. He returns to Harlem to discover his next assignment is to report on the arrest of his own brother, who is charged with the murder of a white woman.

3. Life Sucks

Life sucks for Dave Marshall. The girl he’s in love with doesn’t know he exists, he hates his job, and ever since his boss turned him into a vampire, he can’t go out in daylight without starting to charbroil. Undead life in its uncoolest incarnation yet is on display in this cinematic, supernatural drama told with humor and hemoglobin
